Are there firebreaks? I never really understood why people try to put out wildfires as opposed to being proactive and creating burn zones and doing controlled burns within them (like we do in FL).
I'm not a firefighter and really curious about this. Is it just the size of the area and lack of resources, or some other reason?

Well it started burring down the hill, and that was taking some time. When we saw burning stuff rolling down the hill, we evacuated back to a large safety area that had been cleared by bulldozers. The fire crew fast enough that we singed some paint on the crew bus while we were evacuating.
