Well, with this piece I found out that drawing a character who was originally designed in someone else's style isn't all that easy. This is Cassandra, a Chow Chow/German Shepherd mix who was originally a character of a friend of mine on deviantArt. Basically, I was allowed to "adopt" Cassandra as one of my own characters because she was no longer needed by the original artist. To show my appreciation and get some practice out of the way while I was at it, I decided to draw a pic involving Cassandra. This is the fruit of that labor. Overall I rather like how it came out, though the main thing that stands out (to me) is that my style of eyes reduces the overall cuteness that the character had originally, but to each his own.

Oh, and as for the background, I find doing grassy fields the easiest (thanks to photoshop lol) but didn't want to keep doing the same azure sky and grassy plains over and over again. It was decided to do a sunset, which didn't turn out too bad.
