Unfortunately there are some demons who can just let you straight-up fly. They're powerful and they're hard to keep happy, but a few bold birds will end up making pacts with them. Styled as airborne knights they can be one of the nastier things the birddemon remnant can throw at someone. They can take off from a single jump and like to swoop in from right above with their big fat lances. Some birds get demons that can do more than just fly; the lead bird's demon there has a beak that works like a second lance. That's probably why the bird is the leader. Their demon won't tolerate not being in charge. That's how a lot of birddemon society works, really.

These merchants filthy smugglers are being raided being punished for refusing to pay tolls by a local pirate group the local authorities.
