The subject of the article this illustrated was something about hunters who used non-lethal means. Did the author really suggest roping deer? I don't remember. In any case it was a bit of fun to draw. The hunter may bear more than a passing resemblance to a certain Rough Rider who was president in the early 1900's. I also experimented with the leafage. Rather than try for realism I borrowed an abstract technique I'd seen in Japanese prints.
