A little while ago a friend of mine managed to get me a hand-forged Katana blade The blade is in perfect condition so i'm going bring it up to a useable state.

As far as I can tell, the blade isn't folded but it seems to be made of either medium or high carbon steel.
It doesn't seem to be very old. I don't know where my friend got it from and I'm not going to ask. I know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak ;)
