My 16 x 20 inch oil on canvas board, which I did at the fair today.
For anyone wondering how long this took: 5 hours... from start to finish.
It was also like 96 degree's in the Sun, near the fairground Horse track (what I painted was the inside track area, where there's a small executive golf course).
Warm... busy... and FUN!

Even my Dad liked it! He said it's one of the best improvement's he's seen to date in my work!
In fact this one was running for 2nd and 3rd off-and-on during the judging.
Don't get me wrong though, because even though it didn't win, it's one of the best Plein Air paintings I've done so far.
Good composition; Good use of color; Good depth, and best of all... LOOSE!
My prior paintings tended to be tight and controlled. Don't know how I fell into the grove so well this time,.., but I LIKE IT!
I think from now on, I stick to the larger canvas' too.
Tee was at the top of the hill and the hole at the bottom. It still took me 10 strokes because my damn ball kept finding every BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPing dimple on the way down.
I had to take the maximum strokes on every hole because I could not sink anything. On the 18th hole, I walked the ball to the cup, held it about 1 inch above the cup to drop it, and it bounced out!
GAH!
But, I do occasionally do watercolors, on paper ranging from 150 lb. to 300 lb. cold press paper.
