Maybe it isn't patients that allows me to work on an image so. I used to get frustrated with my work taking to long but now I use it as therepy. It is a godsend in many ways. I can just get lost in creating something. I'm sorry you miss the forrest. I would miss it to if I had to leave it. I grew up in desert surroundings where it only rained maybe once ever three months. There was alot of beautiful land about and I would love to depict that but I also have no desire to live there again. I love where I've ended up with so much nature around me. I do hope you get the chance to take many vacations. Still deserts have a ton of beauty that hides. Try seeking it out and implimenting bits of it into your art work. :D Use it to your advantage. ^.^
Yeah, that's a good idea. I am in the middle of a HUUGE city though, but There are a lot of new plants that I like around still. You're such a nice person. *__* Thank you for replying to my posts. I understand you when you say that drawing is theraputic, I definately agree. When I was in middle school and high school, I drew a ton of picutres, because I was kinda sad, but I got okay at drawing. How do you research plants? Do you go out of your home and sketch them, or do you take photos? For now, I just look up trees on royalty free sites and copy them, then mimic what I did later on for a different picutre. I need to do that a lot more though, since I want to do comics, and there are plenty of trees and such in their settings. As for vacations, I'm heading up there this summer, when it will be 120 degrees here. =.= I will be happy to be up in lovely alaska again, hee hee.
OOh I hear Alaska is a very beautiful place. I was contemplating following my brother up there for vacation this summer but things took a slight turn for the worse and money is scares for both of us. *grins* As it stands. As for research. I create what many artists call their morgue. I collect any and ever kind of image that inspires me from texture to even the shape of a nose. Magazines are a hot ticket for getting inspiration. I also examine plants up close and if it still eludes me I look online for artists that have drawn the plants or texture I am seeking. Some reply to me and give me tips on achiveing what I'm attempting. Make yourself a morgue of images and file it anyway you like. It can bee a great assistance. I even so far as to bought a book full of poses for comic artists. Its been a god send when it comes to perspective on limbs and hands.
Yeah, alaska is gorgeous. it's too bad you didn't get the chance to visit, but there will be others. :) There's a restaurant somewhere called "Bad food and cheap beer" but it got a lot of complaints for false advertisement, haha. My grandma just had to eat there because of the sighn. :P I've heard of image morgues, and yeah I should get working on one, since I'm planning on making my own comics also. Thank you so much for the advice!
No problem. I'm glad you asked. Good luck on your comic. I know how much trouble it is to plan one. I've got one myself but for the life of me I can't get it off the ground. Just to much work for me at the moment. I've already picked out my layout formats. Its just making the panels now and seeing if my freind is still intrested in writting it correctly for me. *chuckels*
