In my opinion it is a very well drawn lion-face.
Here the eyes are closed, so you cannot see the cat-like eyes.
Did you draw them on the other picture on purpose with a slit as a pupil? Is that the charakter? Lions do have a round one.

Being german perhaps I have funny feelings with normal "phrases" you nativ english speakers use. So please don't be offendet that I ask perhaps silly questions.
