The jubilee T-Shirt design for Berlicon 10 this year. As Berlicon has taken place last weekend, I can safely upload this, without spoiling too much. Folks visiting MMC got to see the original piece in all the A3 Glory. The shirt and other designs for the convention were elaborately designed by Alpha_Ki and I. In this case here, Alpha_KI added the Typeset and a further character to the design later on, in exchange I did some design and type set work on her entry to the shirt (we were both printed on the front and the reverse respectively).

Visitors and residents to Berlin will of course recognise a well known landmark. The Elephant Gate of the Berlin Zoo. The obvious choice for a character would of course be an Elephant, which I deemed fairly generic and boring at the time, rather wanting to draw a Tiger. The Theme of the convention however is the roguish and loud youth-movements of the eighties and nineties, with a lot of Punk and Graffiti. The idea of a Punk elephant, filling the elephant gate did win me over and adding the challenge of finalising and coppices to the mix really challenged me. Nearly a month of research and painstaking sketching and correcting later, this piece was fit to be show off!
