Used this commission as an excuse to practice with the new background style applied to characters, and I didn't use flash this time for the character drawing and coloring, and boy did it take a while. But I am pretty happy with the final results. Again, Gravity Falls backgrounds were a huge inspiration for this and it definitely shows. Maybe...hopefully...

Wow! Yes, I would definitely say that the new background style looks incredible - I am seriously impressed with the amount of different colors and the level of detail, it looks so professionally done, I could see it putting many 'professional' animators to shame, really, this looks like it belongs as part of an animation cell or some such x3
The lighting/shading on Arkiea and the two bully vixens, being under and around the tree look amazing. I can't emphasis it enough and I do find it difficult to put into words, but I would say you definitely sought to impress with this one and I think you succeeded.
