so, my guess is that snake tits was a magical construct, possibly in full, possibly being controlled by the real Selana, and the reservoir of magic that powered the construct was also was also being used to hold up the building they were in- introduce aetherite, goodbye reservoir, good by magical construct snake tits, goodbye structural integrity.
Evil dungeons must be a nightmare for real estate.
