Neo Bahamut - Speed Sculpt
One of my final projects for this semester. I am still a beginner at Zbrush :( It is Neo Bahamut (or at least trying very poorly to be) from Final Fantasy VII. He was always my favorite of the three.
I was thinking of doing sculpts for commissions when I am finally caught up on my current ones and finals :)

How in the WORLD did you get your color so smooth on this? @_@ I'm using Sculptris (my instructor's still waiting for the copy of ZBrush the school's getting for the class, so we're using the watered-down version in the meantime) and I've been having one HELL of a time getting the color in Paint Mode to apply this smoothly and evenly. The edges of the pigment are always so horrifically pixelated and blurry. >_<;;
Oh no! I have no idea how Sculptris works (I am pretty sure Pixologic, the Zbrush company bought them out). With Zbrush it is incredibly easy. It is like painting with opacity levels in photoshop :) Zbrush's layout and interface is incredibly intimidating the first few times, but once you get the hang of it it is way to much fun. You are going to have a blast! :D
Sculptris and ZBrush are eassentially the same. The former's just a very, very, VERY bare-bones basic version of the latter. Hell, Sculptris even has a built-in means of importing your creations -into- ZBrush, assuming you have it installed.
I'm hoping that it's just a matter of Sculptris' Paint Mode being much more infantile and incomplete compared to ZBrush's. >_>

Technically Photoshop has a way to import directly into Zbrush, as well as several other programs. *chuckles* You're both right, though. It was a Zbrush employee that just went out on his own and made Sculptris because he wanted a dynamic sculpting program. Then Zbrush bought it. And it is to Zbrush as a sketch pad and pencil are to an oil canvas, paints, and all the tools. LOL. And really, that's a serious understatement. Maybe more like a cheap model car compared to the real deal? *giggles*
Yeah, you'll love it. Can't wait to see you get ahold of it!
