These are four of fourteen tadpoles I rescued from
Windy_Corgi 's pool. I want to go save more, but this will be enough to worry about.
I have them in a ten gallon tank that is filled up a little more than halfway with one layer of those natural rocks rather than the crazy colored kind. That rock looking thing is a lily bulb, there are two of them, and I don't know how long it'll take to grow, but I'm hoping they grow in time for when the frogs get all their legs. I have a broken off tree branch for their cover which they enjoy sometimes but they love swimming around more. I feed them some generic turtle/frog food from target only because the pet stores were not open so I had to resort to something quickly, and they also get dog food which they absolutely love. They'll eat anything really.
One of them is already beginning to grow legs, so I'm guessing they're a couple of weeks old by now; only had them for around a day so it'll be a few more weeks before they get legs and such. I plan on adding land pieces I can get at a pet store and keeping it half water half land. When they grow up I'm going to release them except two or three to keep as pets, my brother wants two as well, but mostly they'll all be released. I'll post more pictures as they get bigger. :)

That's funny, I recently rescued a bunch of tadpoles out of my pool, stuck them in tanks, and have a tank full of teeny tiny frogs!!
One tip though - once they're frogs, they won't eat anything but literally itty bitty bugs (crickets and mealworms will be WAY too big and just be trash in their tank and make it smell) - I personally catch black ants with honey in a ntural trap and dump them into the tank at the end of the day - they feast like crazy on the ants, and they're the right size.
Just a tip from one tadpole raiser to another :P

Thanks for the advice, that's an excellent idea, plus I won't have to spend money on bugs they won't eat! You're a lifesaver! What I'm worried about is not having enough room in the tank for all of them once they get bigger, I don't know if they're an addition I can add onto the tank in a pet store somewhere, maybe I can fashion more space somehow.
How many do you have in the 10 gallon tank right now?
I personally had two tanks - one held the tadpoles while they grew, and one empty to begin with, with a small amount of water and lots of rocks and gravel and parrots feather (it's a water plant, we have a home-grown pond outback where we'll release the frogs later) - the moment the tadpoles started showigg the nubs of the front legs, I transferred them with a fish net (super soft, smallest mesh you can find!!! can't stress this enough!) to the other tank meant for the frogs. The smaller amount of water forces them to start crawling along the gravel and stuff, and they have a better chance of breathing for the first time too. Both are 10 gallon tanks, and I have 12 frogs in there at the moment, and 6 tadpoles left that're about to pop their legs!
You say they're tree frogs (I would be inclined to agree, but some of them that are the grey speckled kind are spring peeper frogs!) so be careful and make sure you have a safe and secure top... they WILL crawl up the sides and get out if it's not closed :P

I have 14. I suppose I should buy another tank, but I don't really have room for another one. I suppose I can find space if I cleaned up a bit. And yeah, I'm getting a top soon, good thing they don't have legs yet. So another tank/ top, gravel/ rocks, and some mossy-like plants, and branches. I think I got it down, wow they're pretty cheap to have considering most of this I can get cheaper than at a pet store and be just as effective. Gonna start cleaning so I can make room for the second tank which I'll buy Thursday, maybe I'll buy one for my brother too since he wants a few once they're fully grown.
Sounds good I would suggest something like this though, plant wise. Idk if moss will work as it doesnt have roots to go in and give the water oxygen! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myriop.....llum_aquaticum "Parrot's Feather"
I have a bunch of leftover plastic 'critter keeper tanks' that I'll be using to separate the frogs as they get bigger, they're really cheap and have really awesome tops they can cling to and have a part for you to stick your hand in to feed! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lee-S-Aqu.....20025/24888550
<3 Good luck!! :3
