Kookaburras Soaking Up The Sun
Taken early in the morning on a day I had to speak to a bunch of school children about the penguins, I spotted these two guys on a tree branch just soaking up the sun.....Until it started pouring rain about 20 mins later. hehehe

That's a great pic! It demonstrates how well the birds are able to blend in with their surroundings, which in the case of these giant kingfishers works just as well for birds of prey as for prey species. However it's also a good pic for showing both profie and rear views of their superb plumage.
I like kookaburras for their awesome turquoise feathers on the underside of their wings. That's probably another advantage; from below it might possibly look like the sky.
