So I figured out exactly how I want the story for the demo of my summoner game to go. It's not polished all the way yet, but I thought I would share it. It also tells what the story of the main game is is going to focus on.
I welcome any feedback.

I did not choose to be gifted, nor did I choose to be the best. I wouldn’t have chosen to be normal either, in fact I wouldn’t have chosen to exist at all, but I was not given a choice, so here I am. I exist and am the best, perhaps the best that will ever be. The best, but not good enough which is why I am trapped. Trapped for an eternity between realms, looking at everything, but unable to be at home. There is no life to be had here, yet I cannot die either. As long as I remain here, there is time can keep moving out there. I am the best, and my hunger for knowledge, and the power that it goes with, has me trapped. That desire started this mess and I can see its end. The void is perfect and consumes all like a hungry maw. Time, space, and the magic that connects them, it greedily devours them all. It is perfection, beauty, chaos, and terrifying. The void is perfect, but I am brilliance. It cannot be stopped, but it can be slowed. So long as I stay it cannot grow.
It started simply enough, I was going to traverse to a plane of mana in order to learn its secrets. I’m no fool, so I had everything I needed, including a companion. He was eager, not nearly as great a sorcerer as I, but far from inept. We summoned our most powerful spirits, called upon Luminious, and pierced the veil. Van Eis, the realm of light is glorious. It’s as if we were walking on concentrated dreams. I was amazed at the sights as we continued deeper, fighting off powerful spirits. As my companion was reaching exhaustion, we saw the Crystal Pillar of Eternal Dawn. Watching it radiated pure light mana was captivating. Those “great” minds before me had only theorized, but I was there.
Cautiously we approached the pillar, feeling wave after wave of mana crashing against us. Enduring the pressure we continued onward until we could touch the pillar. Inside was Luminious, the high spirit of light, who looked like a reflection. Having talked to him in his projected regal form many times, his appearance came as a shock to me. I fear it was too much for my companion who let out a shout, shattered the pillar, and absconded with a fragment of Dawn. Before I could stop him I was sucked into the collapse with a blinding flash. When I opened my eyes I was no longer in the realm of dreams, nor was I in my home realm, but it was a bubble of nothingness in between. I could see both through a thin sheet that robbed them of color. That was when I noticed the void.
It started so tiny, a speck of nothingness slightly different than the rest of the nothingness, I was floating in. It started absorbing Van Eis through the membrane of the bubble, and had nearly consumed all the remnants of the pillar before I heard Luminious cry for help. I approached the void, and felt it tug at me, but since my magic was different from the realms it could not break my barrier, yet.
I quickly experimented with the void and found out how perfect it was. Nothing can stop it, but I am the best. I will hold it back as long as possible. Talking with Luminious has confirmed my fears, he is dying. The only thing I can think of is that the fragment must be returned and to re-bind Luminious to the pillar before he fades completely. Entering his realm will be difficult with his waning power.
I will send this journal back to my realm and hope it finds its way to a great sorcerer. I am the best, but I cannot do anything alone like this. Anyone attempting this journey will need skill, determination, and luck. Having seen such all consuming perfection up close I wish I never existed in the first place. If nothing is done we will all be torn apart in it’s wake.
I welcome any feedback.

Well there is there are ten elements that make up two circles of weaknesses and advantages. One of natural elements like fire and one of spiritual elements like light.
Each summoner has it's own way of binding spirits to their service, which changes their stats. One asks them for help which provides defense and health boosts at the cost of speed, one forces them to help which boosts attack and critical hit chance at the cost of defense.
Summoning a spirit takes your life energy, so you can only summon about 8 times in battle before you are in danger of passing out or dying.
Each spirit has three attacks, a physical, a special, and a unique attack. They are of varying strengths and costs.
Each spirit has three forms unlocked by it's strength. The higher forms are stronger, but go through more energy.
The spirit has HP and MP. HP is it's health and varies by spirit, but MP is the representation of your energy and is used up by attacks. If they run out of MP then they keep fighting using their HP. A spirit's HP also has a play in how much damage it deals, the weaker you are the weaker you hit.
