This is one of two golem designs for my friend Makeshiftstory as part of a design trade. The theme was 'rose garden', and the first two things that came to mind was 'butterfly' and 'hummingbird', so I decided to play around with the ideas and see what I could come up with.

The second one is a hummingbird golem; I decided to try out a bird golem since I don’t remember seeing one before.
For the wings, I wanted to try a ‘Disney’ approach where the primaries function like the hand and fingers.
As for the colors, rather than going with the typical ruby-throated humming bird, I decided to invert the colors, making it into an emerald-throated humming bird.

I tried to keep them as androgynous as possible so Dolly can choose their genders.
