The article this illustrates seems to be something about a gentlemen who came late to fishing. Don't ask me to be more specific. These articles were in the main quite forgettable, and the most interesting thing about them to me was figuring out what about them was worth turning into a picture. In this case I decided on depicting a somewhat old fashioned Britsh gent in tweeds, pipe, leather brogues, and wool hat. who is obviously not equpped to be fishing, yet caught up in the excitement of the moment. (Don't ask me what excitment -- I've never done this kind of fishing in my life.) In the background a seasoned fisher in hip waders and creel is egging him on. I loved the arch of movement, from the fisher's left leg, through his uplifted foot, through the far leg of the gentleman to his other leg thrust into the water, reinforced by his tie flying up and the line from his fishing pole.

Nice work there, conveys a lot of motion. In reality, if he were fly fishing he would probably be dressed like most of them do except maybe some knee high rubber boots. Tweeds and a pipe seem to be the official uniform of the fly fisherman much like the driver's cap and wool is for golf.
