I really enjoyed working on this one. It's simple in construction but full of personable details. The gist of the article was something about evaluating the performance of the school your children attended. I don't think it suggested that it would be as this one appears...

I got my practice grenade at an army surplus store. In Canada that means mostly old boots, jackets, web belts, inflatable rafts perhaps, but no guns or helmets or anything too explicitly military as a rule. But this one had some practise grenades for ten bucks. Apparently they can be told at a glance by the spoons, which are painted blue. (The spoon is the lever you hold down after pulling the pin. I don't know why its called that.) Another dead give away is looking at the bottom -- the dud has been drilled out so you can look in and see its hollow.
