A group shot of all the characters for a MMX storyline I have in mind that takes place after MMX4 but before MMX5. Basically the world is slowly recovering after the war between the maverick hunters and the Repliforce, as survivors of both factions aid in the reconstruction of the planet's war-torn areas. however a reploid survey team discovers a ancient labratory
unearthed after the war and inadvertently unleash a terror form X's past that could prove more deadly than sigma himself.
Characters:

Megaman X: after his last encounter with sigma, X has been made temporary leader of the maverick hunters after the previous leader resigned out of guilt for causing the repliforce war. X has also been plauged with strange visions of his past and is worried if this is a ill omen of a coming conflict.

Zero: having destroyed both Iris and Colonel, zero has become emotionaly dead inside and has since then focused only on the destruction of any surviving mavericks and the sigma virus.He to is haunted by the revelation of his past during his latest encounter with sigma.

Ensign: a young solider in the remnants of the repliforce army who honored and respected colonel as a brother. He is a gentleman warrior and holds no ill will to the hunters, except for Zero who he regards as a vile war criminal for killing his mentor.

Karen: a former member of both the mavrick hunters and the repliforce, she is now known as a mavrick stalker, combat reploids who operate outside of the jurisdiction of the mavrick hunters and the human government. During her time with repliforce , karen became a special forces operative in colonel's unit and developed romantic feelingsfor the young officer.tragically she never able to tell her true feeling for him before he was destroyed by zero. since then she has vowed to get revenge for colonel by killing zero.

Alisha: a young reploid recruit who is part of X's 17th mavrick hunter devision she is a very shy and timid but is level headed and capable as a field operative. she has a growing crush on X but so far she has keep this a secret. She is also the younger sister of Karen.
Keep in mind this is just a brief description of the story and the characters, I'm sure I'll be able to flesh them out more as time goes on^^

Well, despite the back of the case mentioning the events of MegaMan X5, there's no mention of the events of X5 or X6 in-game in X7. Not to mention in the game's final FMV cutscene (one of only two), Sigma has his X6 appearance, which leads me to conclude X7 takes place in-between X4 and X5, since Sigma has a cloak in X4 and X6. And since X8 does mention the events of X5 but not X6, I believe the events of X6 are just a dream Zero has some time after X8. It's an explanation I'm fine with.
