Well if the root was being worried or self critical it'd be one thing. But a childhood of being mocked and abused for ones looks is hard to balance, even with the gobs of positive attention it got. Add that to trickery through empty flattery and it makes me suspicious. Sad I know but haven't gotten through it yet.
