Well, yugioh cards follow this layout. Somewhere along the line, whether it's at the stage of concept design, licensing, manufacturing, production, etc., someone owns the rights to objects of that likeness. Their rights have to be protected or else anyone could make, sell, and profit off of their idea.

What you did above, I think it is perfectly legal. It's your art and you're displaying it for personal use. However, if you sell your art using their template design as a background, then they may frown upon that.

It doesn't bother me. I think it's a cool idea. I'm just advising that you look into it, to make sure you don't get yourself into trouble. : )

I wonder why everyone is all up in arms over the yugioh one when i did a pokemon card variation infront of this one >< yet NO one attacked that or anything.... yet i do this and everyones grrrring at me

I have over 20 blue eyes cards just because it's my favorite monster <3 I seen plenty of these altered card arts so I'm not gonna cry over it xD I really like this idea and would love to try it out someday
