Well ladies and gentlefurs it's official, the highly rumored Fairy-Type Pokemon has been confirmed for Pokemon X and Y, as well as some cool new features, in an E3 trailer.

I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about a new type being added, but I have to admit I'm a little excited. This is not only the type Sylveon is confirmed to be, but a few other Pokemon (including Marill) gains this type. I wonder what other types it's good against besides Dragon. I kind of hope it'll be weak to Poison. I love so many Poison types, but the only type they're super effective against is Grass, which already has so many weaknesses. It'd make sense since Fairies are commonly associated with nature and Poison deals with pollution (Ferngully anyone?) I will be very surprised if X and Y didn't have a Fairy-type Elite Four or at least a Gym Leader.

But what I'm really excited for is that Pokemon-Amie. I'm going to give my Lucario so much stroking and loving ;^) I've been hoping for a feature that lets you pet Pokemon in the status menu or something that can boost happiness, but PA just adds a whole new tier of sweet and adorable to me that's just so incredible and awesome.
