It whistles. An ascending series of chirps followed by ascending krees. In Florida I heard many.

You're telling me this? :P In an Osprey's warning call they produce a call similar to a "yewking" sound.

I'm not sure I was describing their warning call. You have to get closer than their comfort for them to 'warn' you. I did that once, but I forget the sound.

Ah, I see. I thought for a second you were criticizing "yewk" as not being an Osprey call. The Cornell uses that phrase on their website and when I listen to the call I can hear it. :>

Naw, I'm mostly familiar with the call they make when they're idly perched or flying around. It is a very distinct and announcing call.
