Sometimes, to get the perfect, if gigantic fruit, all that's required is to have a green thumb, lots of love, time, patience, and fertilizer, and one awesome time machine at your disposal! Of course, if that time machine can change shape, that makes it so awesome it has broken the awesome-scale!
However, it may also make it difficult to collect the perfect, possibly gigantic fruit back out of the time machine should the thing have shape shifted from something with acceptably sized doors to something with somewhat less acceptably sized doors. The trunk of a Volkswagen, for example. Great for driving around in the outside, rather difficult for pulling gigantic watermelons out of. Planning ahead is your friend, people, especially when time travel is involved...and doors.
An awesome image drawn by the silly and awesome Dakota~ Originally, this was to be a sketch, but Dak gave me a very nice upgrade for my wait, and it turned out AWESOME (as stated above)~ He did a great job in getting the double-doored volkswagen to turn out as it did (believe it or not, they actually had those!) and the comedy comes out just great - plus, giant melon~

you think that threshold would have been given bigger on the inside technology. I suggest trying to move forward three seconds and about 15 feet while isolating the melon in its own stagnant spatial temporal dimension. Or wrap a vortex manipulator around the melon and send it foward 2 minutes while you go backwards a minute, giving you three minutes to move your TARDIS out of the way before you the melon temporally syncs

Just let out the bigger on the inside bit a little (or if you rather increase the relative Dimension in Space without altering the relative time) This will increase the size of your tardis relative to your current location while keeping the same relative shape, though a bit larger. Once your melon is free you can decrease the relative space back to what you want, or enjoy your larger car. THat way the customer can get his melon in it full unsliced glory, and you can potentially shock a passer by in a humorous way.
well if we reverse the polarity of the chameleon circuit we can make it smaller on the inside, but I don't see how that would help.
What if we get another tardis to go inside your tardis, put the other melon in the second tardis, phase your tardis to alpha-point-zeta-six-blue-seven, which should land it about ten yards away, while moving the second tardis to the coordinant currently occupied by your tardis, and then remove the melon from the second tardis which has a bigger door.
