This is a small portrait of the character "Ravenwing"! It's a shaman character from the RPG "Shadowrun" (not an official one) and has been created by my friend.
This picture offered me the chance to draw a black raven for the first time... and I really like this bird. :3

you did very well on this piece. I especially like the how the raven turned out. Looks very lovely.
The only thing i could complain about if any, is his lowered arm. for a relaxed position, the muscles around his... amn... elbow joint? ( if that's the correct term ) look a bit too tensed and well defined. I'd imagine for a relaxed position those would be more smooth... but that's just me.
Overall this is a lovely piece and I really enjoyed watching it.
Keep up the great work.

Hey, thanks a lot for the comment! ^___^
Yes, you must know that my buddy LOVES these kind of ravens (Kolkrabe). He really loves them and that's why I wanted to draw this one for him. Though I've used a photograph as reference, it's still my first raven and I like the result. It's not easy drawing animals in a ... realistic way. Most of all, when someone drawns mostly anthros all the time! XD
About the left arm... the guy "Ravenwing" is a very thin person. I wanted to show that he has almost no "meat" on his body... and you can see the muscles through the skin somehow. Yeah, I admit it looks like a very well trained arm here... should've draw it much thinner! ^^"

This "dome-ish" construction is merely a "filler"... the picture looked too empty without something. XD
Frankly, I thought about something "post apocalyptic"... like a glass dome which contains the last city... keeping millions alive. Something like "Mega-Cities" from JUDGE DREDD, hehehe.
I dunno about "Shadowrun", but this dome was just a "filler" and fun to draw.
^^

Ohh, what a cool raven :D You don´t draw too much feather creatures, do you? except for those winged characters with feathers, but you know what I mean.
Is it just me, or I´m watching a scale pattern on the upper part of his wings hahah XD that´s pretty much your stye signal mark, isn´t XD
But wow, I have to say, the contrast here looks well maded, those black areas for the shading characters and the raven are pretty well applied and clean. I imagine you use pure 6B for the dark tones, or you use a bit of both 4 and 6B? Because sometimes when I tried to use the pencils that are more than 4B, I fail a bit when it´s about making a clear application ^ ^º or my finger make the paper dirty by making friction on the drawing while I´m drawing or the way I add the strokes for the other pencils aren´t the right way to use for a 6B XP
Ok then, I see that I talk more of the raven that I even forgot the character XD Is just that a bird drawn by you is something that I never see from you XD. Man, I love the way you draw the hair on pencil, all detailed, with its shapes and everything, so realistic, and the clothes are the important part, we can see which clothes are thick and which are thin because of the way you add the pencil strokes and the folds that the shirt has and the few that the jacket has. I like this piece man, really, great job ^ ^

That's right, I don't draw feathered creatures so often... but it's not really difficult. ^^
The "scale pattern" are feathers... if you check photos of ravens, you can see that the feathers look like this around the neck of the bird!! ;)
I have used the 6B only for darkest parts, yepp... I've used the 2B mostly.
The jacket/vest is my own, hrhrhrhrhr... so it wasn't really that difficult, either.
THANKS very much for the comment!!! THat's highly appreciated.

THANK you very much for the comment!
Those ravens have a funny, fluffy neck... it really stands out. ^^
Especially when they are excited or nervous.
By the way... this here is a nice YOUTUBE channel with a woman who's got a wonderful talking raven called "Fable". That bird is so cute, cool and intelligent.

Magpies are fun. But I suppose the birds with the highest "trigger warning" are the turkeys! XD
You just have to "gobble gobble" at them and they go nuts!!!!!!!!!
It's hilarious though.
If you check my gallery you'll find more artworks I've done for my best friend... whose character name in most games is "Corvax". Yeah, he's either a shaman, a mage, a wizard or even a special kind of archer. But in all versions he's deeply connected to ravens. He loves them a lot! That's why many of my artworks are raven themed... and if my artworks contains a raven... it's most likely drawn for my friend.

Pretty obvious that he loves ravens, eh?
Anyway, enjoy yourself and all the artworks you can find!
