The last of my Valentine’s Day offerings, and definitely my favourite. It’s the only one completed in traditional media, and I’m very fond of the original.
At first glance the situation may seem obvious, but don’t go jumping to conclusions. This fox girl has a love letter clutched in her paws, and that looks to be the love-struck author hiding in the bushes. No, I say! Wrong!
This is a picture that I’m dedicating to everyone out there who didn’t get any candy, or flowers, or cards. If you spent the day feeling lonely, and jealous, this is for you! It was partially inspired by the song “I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter”, sung by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Billy Williams and probably a dozen others.
The letter she’s holding? She wrote it herself – she’s even humming the tune and she goes to stick it in her own mail box. She has no Valentine, but she has hope, and revels in the prospect of being loved someday. That guy hiding behind the bushes? Yeah, he fancies her like mad, but he’s way to shy to do anything about it and is merely admiring her from afar. She doesn’t even know who he is. And that’s just to remind everybody, that you don’t know who’s admiring YOU from afar. Maybe you haven’t found your special someone, but that doesn’t mean you’re not special to somebody else.
And if you are absolutely dead certain that no one ever has, or ever will think that you are just spiffy… then perhaps you should go outside the house a bit more often.

Both picture and words are very much appreciated. They also helped me to remember that no matter what we think of ourselves, other people often see us on their own terms; and even if we consider ourselves hideous, hateful, cosmically vile, other people will form their own conclusions... and those conclusions might be very positive: "He's cute!" or "She's hawt!"
We can never predict how any given person will respond to us, and this might actually work in our favour. Who knows?

Quite a lovely spokesvixen for the message, and the "feel" of the picture definitely changes once you read the description. If anything, it makes her look very optimistic and positive about life, and that in itself is a very attractive trait. Thanks for thinking of us single folk this Valentine's Day!
I know this reply is way late, but a personal experience from my life... to the guy in the bushes and to any and all others! if there is someone you like... take a chance and tell them. the worst they could do is say no. and you won't know their answer until you tell them your side...
