Baoume (B-ow-oo-me)
A quaint little creature said to bring either good luck or mischeif. They will most often be seen wearing prayer ropes and on rare occasion other japanese good luck charms. If you want to appease one you should leave out sweet buns filled with plum mixtures and a side of pickled radishes, which is their absolute favorite treat. Not interested in leaving out their favorite treat but have one around? This may spell mischief because a Baoume with a sweet tooth is a very hyper creature looking for anything they can get into and attract trickster spirits, however, if you fill their belly they become docile and ward off spirits that might disturb the peace of your home or town.

If you're curious how old a Baoume is you might want to count their earrings, for every ten years of age a piercing is added to their collection. Baoume's are almost always born as a single baby, twins are extremely rare, and they are always born at night during three specific moon phases. The moon phase they are born under depicts a bald spot on their forehead, which will either be waxing crescent, waning crescent or full moon... the most rare phase to be born under is a new moon and these Baoume tend to have a very dark sense of humor.
