I wont lie those small detail take a long time to do for every picture. But a long time ago as I was reading some manga I noticed that its not just the big details like hair or eyes, but also the small detail, like the belly button the fold in skin and clothes that make up an artistes style. So I started using a lot of small detail in my images. The small details also add a tiny but noticeable amount of realism and depth the image. but to much or to many of said small detail can make a portion or the whole piece seem messy. But I would suggest just trying to add a few small details here and there to give a piece a little more "pizazz".
Whoops sorry my teacher hat accidentally fell on my head. :3c

I don't mind...in fact, I always pull something unique out of manga that other people don't. “Yu-Gi-Oh!” by Kazuki Takahashi, for example--SHOES. Seriously, look at the footwear most of his characters wear...name-brand athletics, ornately-drawn sandals, amazing boots? I think the first time I noticed this was the Battle City arc and Bakura was wearing a pair of New Balance athletics, like I wear!
I never really noticed stuff like that to much in yugioh until one day I was reading one of the chapters in Shonen Jump. and I noticed that the characters wore really detailed shoes and clothing. I tried to draw shoes like that back then... but Im terrible at draw shoes and feet.
Yeah...............me too!
Also...Kazuki Takahashi was well-known for his anorexic pretty boys in "Yu-Gi-Oh!"--this was the first shounen series I ever read where the boys were so thin and weirdly pretty. I remember my friend Kirsten made a comment on seeing the Yuugi drawing Takahashi did at Anime Expo one year (it was a U.S. "Shounen Jump" cover) asking if Takahashi ever fed that guy.
