This is a character I created when I was younger, back when I still had ambitions of someday becoming an artist and creating my own shounan style comic.

This character, Ooka, is a Chimera, a race of human being modified or outright created to be weapons of war. The term is really just a catch all term really, as some chimera are mere cyborgs, while others barely qualify for human at all.

The chimera were created to fight in a long war, between two nations that, between the two of them, controlled nearly the entire globe. The war, which started as a minor skirmish, grew in size and scope, becoming bloodier, and more nightmarish every year. Yet, despite this, neither side faltered, neither gained an upper hand. No matter what terrors each side created, no matter what hellish powers were unleashed, the war just kept going on.

Finally, after a bloody century of endless warfare, both sides finally exhausted themselves, and each nation collapsed, leaving nothing but anarchy.

On that day, Chimera, whose power and ferocity were held captive by chains of discipline, were truly set loose on the world. Some, decided to join with or protect humanity, others set out to rule it beneath their boot.

Other Chimera, those too young to ever know their place in the world, began a personal journey to discover who they were.

And then we have Ooka, who awoke in this world the same day everything fell apart. With no loving embrace, he was born, the same day the world died.
