This is Waptia. My sketch is based on Isham's reconstruction of Waptia fieldensis found in the Burgess Shale.
Waptia is likely a crustacean, and looks very much like a shrimp. It had a carapace covering its body that could flex along a hinge in the middle. Its first four pairs of limbs were for standing on the sea floor, but the remaining six had gill branches that could also serve to propel it through the water. Since Waptia did not have well-developed jaw appendages, it probably ate organic particles that it found in the sediment.
