This is where the empathy of being a Doctor becomes most pronounced, and why its lacking in those who are temporarily or permanently sterilized among the military crew. Silver is mentally geared by default to help the sick and injured. He cannot help that.

Cobalt took his "special sauce" from Artemis with him. He'll survive, but where will he go? unless Silver's compassion turned him completely around. It seems the fashion with the aliens to be a torturing tyrant when you're in control, and then beg for mercy when the tables turn.
No so different from humans after all, I suppose.

Very true, TM. It is also a common thing for humans to lord it over those they see as below them and then expect the mercy they did not show in return if the tables are turned.
Strangely though, this sometimes comes about as there are still some who refuse to sink to their enemy's level once they are in ascendancy.... I always like to think that this is a positive sign for humanity and not a sign of weakness as many strategists like to say.

The dagger pierced, the end of his life, the blood drawn by his bitter b***h of a wife. Should he survive he'll know only strife. He grabs his goods, he flees to the woods, pray he finds a priest of nature the druids. And thus endeth he, the one called Cobalt. The annoying tyrant who's a bitter bit of salt.
A fitting end for a fitting fool...or at least a momentary period of suffering. Atypical of most tyrants. Even if you behead the snake. If it wasn't a deep enough cut they'll regrow a head with new fangs and altered poisons.

Silver's compassion comes through yet again.... he just cannot seem to stay angry with someone injured and in pain.... this seems to show that in the alien's society there must be an inherent compassion that we have been missing due to our main exposure to sterilised military types. Gives one hope that their society has potential to be so much more with the right leadership.
Hector looks like he is beginning to pay the price of his outburst already.... but Artemis has an alternative escape now, so if Hector can stick it out just a bit longer.....
Cobalt.... a sharp mind there to grab your 'miracle cure' supply before getting away.... but where to go now?
Beryl, Beryl, Beryl, there seems no hope for you.... you slash Cobalt, disrupt his experiments, and then blame him for the escapees when you are just as much, if not more, to blame...... salvage for you seems like an unlikely thing.....

Gen already has that covered!

Kindof a unique position I can see on this Military and Doctor sides, it's a huge confliction for combat medics I work with while being in-battle. whoever we don't kill and they no longer show any hostile intent, we end up trying to save them.
Part of the UN rules of war, but its can really pain you when your efforts go to waste and see the same guy you nearly killed, back at their job of trying to kill you....
(Side-note is that we don't give any unwarranted violence. PID (personell identification) and detecting hostile intent is hard pressed, and none of us care to harm anyone innocent, rather we're sympathetic to the people as we can be. Hopefully I don't start controversy on this x.x)
