Hey I like this. You seem to do well with lighting. I know artists tend to be very critical of their own works, me included but don't be afraid of the messy sketchy color works. There is a kind of human charm to the imperfections.

One of the things I like to do for stars and this works quite well:

If you are using photoshop, take a Brush with hardness set to 35%. Make white dots of various sizes. Then take a smudge brush with roundness set to 25%. Then pull out some edges to give a shine effect. it looks awesome both at a distance and up close.

And if you want to blur it just lightly use the blur tool.
