This is nothing more than me killing time and farting around with more of those samples I mentioned, and this is not to be taken seriously by any means.
The quality of the file is shit because the properties of the samples I used determined the maximum output of the export file function. (I'm going to update my horribly obsolete DAW eventually)
Since the samples were ripped from their sources several years ago, it was during a time when I had a very poor understanding of bitrates and encoding and all that mess, so the majority of them are in something repulsive like 177kbps / 11025Hz .wav files.
The only reason I'm uploading this, really, is to gauge whether or not I should continue the path of farting around with ambience. Regardless of the fact that I said this submission isn't to be taken seriously, I'd still like some responses as far as creative input and critique (constructive or otherwise).
Also, I'd appreciate if you were to take a look at my past efforts, too. Just browse my gallery and give me an honest opinion of what you'd personally like to see more of.
Thanks!
Oh also, fun fact... here in Virginia is some kind of cicada migration that happens every 17 years. The sample you hear at 30 seconds in is a pitch shifted and stretched recording of their incessant droning. If you want, you can find the original recording I took with an mp3 player here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8.....0528102959.mp3
