Following a dinner party he hosted for a couple of new coworkers, the big blond canine, Ruaidri, suffers a medical issue for which his host feels responsible. Sergei, acting on this impulse, shares his bed with the large Kuvasz.
While Ruaidri seems to be enjoying a peaceful night's sleep, the same cannot be said for the Kangaroo. Is that look one of concern for his guest's well-being, or is there something else that's troubling him? I leave that for the readers of Book 2 to decide.
