This piece is taking much longer than I anticipated, so I'm a tad behind on my progress toward my Anthrocon Art Show pieces for this year. However, I figured I would show everyone how it's going so far.
A few watchers have suggested I do more male art, and frankly I could use the practice, so after a bit of deliberation I've come up with this pair here. Meet Zerai the gray fox and Xioli the stallion, the newest additions to my vast ancient Auran setting. I wanted to go back to my initial inspirations for ancient Auran Sages like Brett Booth and Frank Frazetta, so much more elaborate ornamentation was called for in addition to toned bodies.
I'll give more detail on who these guys are when I post the final piece, but for now, I hope you all enjoy how they're shaping up so far!

Aelius, I support your creativity, I really do, but you got to slow down on the characters buddy. The more characters you make, and the less any of them will grow and develop. One can only juggle so many characters, and I just think you should slow down a bit, and work with what you got. I don't mean to rain on your parade.
Anyway, your art skills are improving.

Heh, I understand your concern, though I must admit creating different characters is quite fun. It's more to populate the universe with, and though they all may seem difficult to juggle, I've been able to focus on a select few for whichever stories they'll be involved in. With the variety of short stories and novel projects I have in mind (some already in progress for upcoming anthologies), I haven't been overwhelmed yet. Oftentimes the minor characters work toward developing the major ones as I edit their stories. In one instance, Khalil has a cameo in Auran Legend and ended up opening a neat scene that helps develop Mai Tao. Other times they're added into a pile I'm saving for a multi-story "Chronicles" collection. Never without a story to tell, no matter how many have already been told
