Those arrows are parasites that start off tiny in their hosts blood, then they move into their flesh and organs as they grow e_e.
Once they get too big they chew through the hosts skin or bone to get outside and then slither off to find more hosts, though they usually fail and die within a few minutes ;n;
they spread easily through bites though 8D

once the arrow parasites infect you, you can't get rid of them and they don't kill you either so they kind of turn into their factory ;A;
