Slimyness has nothing to do with the feel of their gene-spliced skin. So many little battles going on. It's a wonder they ever conquered anything. Seems to me they're too busy fighting each other.

That was exactly my thought.....until I remembered how well their little adventure has gone and this also explains how such an technologically advanced society is so dysfunctional.

one thing to point out we've already proved that not all the aliens are evil, there are exceptions, While I'll leave it up to you who you sympathize with remember that the power struggles are evident in human social structures as well. Some of them are military minded but most of them are not, they were made to be politicians, and diplomats so while they don't have alot of the focus you'd expect from a more military minded individual by thier standards, they are focused and geared toward needling through power struggles to get ahead and ontop, its thier nature to rise to the top of poletics so that by the time they reveal themselves to the world they're in rather high and influential places of power. Most of the agents that are out in the feild are out there alone and aren't pitted agaisnt eachother. Twelve crew members stuck back on the island are curretnly vying for favor and attention from either beryl and titan or thier immediate superiors.

Ah! Didn't realize that. So now it really is a battle between Overlord and Titan. Our job is to counteract, if not outright expose, the alien agents out in the world, while working our way to domination for benevolence.

True, we do know that there are 'normal' and 'good' guys in the alien group but a society with such a level of advancement is something we always hope is better than us. The fact that they let a group of Titan's ilk rule them did disappoint me as I thought individuals like Silver and Darius showed a better form. Unfortunately as we know from our own society no matter how much we advance our society, we humans always find a way to make it lousy with power plays, selfishness and greed.
Hmmmm.... I had not taken into account the social dynamic distortion of this situation...... but do have eventual hopes as we have heard that the ones most like Titan and Beryl have been recently deposed.... just a pity the rest do not know this.

I kind of wonder what's Titan's(and other "highbornes" within the crew) "endgame" plan for his efforts there, with the crash providing an excellent attempt to evade his ordered "fate".

Simple "survival"? Or rather, continue with the plan of conquest of the planet but this time not under the excuse of following past orders but rather to uses it as a stepping stones to get back their caste's "proper" position in their society the hard way if need be? Or just to conquer the planet itself and rule over it under the reasoning of "better be a king in some far-off forgotten planet than a slave back home?"

Makes me wonder where Beryl would end up staying in this regard herself as well.

the sailor moon characters named after minerals, The aliens were named after metals but i had to expand it to other rocks and minerals and realized the parrallel i made unitnentionallly but I don't mind making a few references here and there for fun. It was one of my favorite shows but that wasn't my original intention.
