Chakat Darkepaw in hir bedroom aboard a starship - looking thoughtfully out at the vastness of space...
This was the first commission that I used an airbrush for some of the effects. (the spacescape outside the window, and also the glow of the lightband that goes around the ceiling).
I also had fun designing a simple but futuristic room, which includes a computer system built into the wall - with a cardkey activation for basic controls, and a keyboard that folds out from the wall (the rectangle you see below the monitor). The 2 plushies on the taur bed are a lion and a white chakat and they represent 2 of Darkepaw's mates. Its also good to see they still have books in the future.
Chakat Darkepaw is copyright hir player.
Done in acrylics and airbrush on 9"x12" illustration board.

As a side note... ZOMGS! The Riddle! Furry Icon'ed!
Excellent work here, easily one of my favorite pictures by you as of late.
This is the :counts: 4th piece I've used the airbrush on, total. At first I was scared to try it - because I thought I might ruin something, but so far its been really fun and I haven't ruined anything yet =)
Hehe I Have to say it again. I love this pic. It was truly worth the commission. And you beat me to posting it. Hehe Love it to bits
I am gonna have to buy myself a few pictures from Kacey one of these days. *is still quite avatar-less* :(
The room looks great, maybe you should go into architecture they always need someone to draw the promo art for buildings, and frankly, 3d models simply don't have the character or personal touch.
The future

It just FEELS right, you know?
Instant fave!
The one is nothing without the background/remains(?) of the picture.
And yes, NOTHING beats a real book, holding a flat toughscreen in your hands is nothing compared with the feel/weight of a real book ^^
And to hollywood out there - stopp playing with not strange looking humanoids in SiFi Movies.
With all the renderpower today get finally something "real" in there - like a chakat =^^=
Or at least a foxtaur if you have problems with the "lil details" *points between Darkepaws hind legs*
This is truly a magnificent piece, dazzling in absolutely every respect.
Great job on this, poor girl looks like she's missing her mate tough.
great job on the pic
Damn good, and after all something different with a bit Sci Fi. :)
*wags tail* great work Maam!
Regardless, *VERY* well done!
I really like this picture, there are so many intricate details throughout. The spaceship bedroom design is extremely cool, with the large glass window for observing the beauty of space, and the light band in the ceiling. Very orderly and organized, neat and tidy futuristic bedroom, including stuffed animals too (yay for lions). Darkepaw is very cute and beautiful hirself, everyone here looking at my screen agrees. I can almost feel the fur, so well done. The facial expression- sad? longing? missing someone, or someplace (homesick)? Or just in deep thought? Maybe this chakat needs a hug!
The chakat is what attracts me most to this picture; everything else adds all the more. It is all good. Some clever thought was put into this piece. If there was a print available of this painting, I'd buy it. I love it. Very good artwork, thank you for sharing!
I do offer prints of my work for $10 each plus shipping/handling ($8 within the US, a bit more internationally depending on the destination)
