I was only inspired to create this last night ^^ and it turned out really awsome. I think it's my longest song at 4 mins and 8 secs.
I was reading stories I wrote about Jaiko when I was in High school and this song was birthed from it.
The song is inspired from a part of my story, where Jaiko was revisiting the orphanage he had grown up in while he was on his way to infiltrate a suspected terrorist hideout. It was abandoned, as well as the rest of the village, and the roof was caved in most areas. Then memories of his abusive childhood came rushing into his mind. How he was mistreated, how his best friend was raped and killed before his eyes, how the children of the orphanage were killed off slowly because of constant battles in the streets, how he ended up the only surviving child of the orphanage before a gang of neo-terrorists overthrew his village completely. He couldn't bear to stay, so he left as quickly as he could after shedding a few tears and muttering his best friend's name. From that moment onward, his main goal was clear. He wanted justice. He wanted light.

I like the story. It's very real, in a horrific sense, and it brings out emotion (sadness and pity) in me. If it can bring out emotion, I like it.
The mood of the song is definetaly appropriate for the story. I didn't like the lack of deviation with the composition though, there were only two instruments playing notes. That wouldn't have been too bothersome though, if the song lasted less than 4 minutes. If you spend more time, it could turn out very well.

Nice use of ostinato... It almost reminds me of Schala's theme from Chrono Trigger, but then the main melody comes in and makes it an original piece.
Hmmmm...It doesn't really seem to me to fit the story. It sounds more...inspirational to me. Still, I think this turned out very well!

The piano at the beginning of the song gave me the full affect of the emotions Jaiko must have felt in those memories. The organ joining in with the piano helped. The drum set and the bass line, as well as the guitar, all complimented the piano parts very well. I almost shed tears myself when I heard this song. I needed to listen to it twice to make sure I didn't miss anything. You did an excellent job on this piece, and I do hope you keep creating such lovely music.
cool ^^ it's mixed and everything :D I like that right off. Good choice of instruments, and I like the nice simple beat. The music box-ish thing in the beginning and end buy me right away. I'm a music box fan. I like the organ a whole lot, too.
I always see movies in my head when I listen to music. I don't see the part where he's actually visiting, I see the resolution, the decision, the walk away. I like that. I see a new sense of purpose and strength in after a moment of sadness... I see your eyes, a mixture of emotion... kind of fills up my chest... heh heh, it's all slowed down in my head, though, like slow motion, to take up the whole song, which is kind of weird.
And at the end, he looks back on the village, on that past for a moment, and that's when he mutters the name, and goes on. It's all cinematic and whatnot.
That's what I see. Strange how cinematic it feels in my head. That doesn't always happen. It usually feels like a music video, but this feels like a movie.
I love this, mate ^^

right off the bat i knew it was gonna sound cool when i hear the music box bells. Then the organ jumps in, and then it's like a melancholic carnival. then the drums and bass join in and then it's a totally awesome trip hop tune. That lead that comes in at 1:20 tops it all off. The whole thing's really neat. excellent work.
