Shelter in a Storm.
Tiberius herded the dogs inside, his fur and armour soaked to the core in the heavy downpour. Hiding a shivver, he looked behind him to see a German Shepherd struggling to get up a slippery slope.
"JUST LEAVE HIM, SOLDIER! TAKE SHELTER YOURSELF!!" Called another soldier.
Tiberius growled loudly at the soldier, his fur bristled as he threw his armour in the cave at the man, knocking him back onto the cave floor.
"Never leave anyone behind. We are a unit. A pack."
He hurled himself down the cliff face, using his claws to steady himself. The dog whimpered and barked worriedly.
''Easy boy, I got you."
Petting the dog, he received a lick to his rain-soaked face. Tiberius picked up the shep with powerful arms, over his shoulder and began to climb up the rocky face back to the cave. Paw by Paw he made his way up the clip to the edge of the outlooking rock.
Placing the dog down before vaulting over the ledge, he ushered him inside and shook his fur off. Using part of his undershirt, he dried off his companion and sat down, finally.
"We'll be home soon, I promise." Tiberius panted, smiling at the dog.
The dog barked back in reply, wagging his tail with tongue lolling out of his mouth, receiving a pat on the head.
Tiberius ushered over the other dogs, curled up upon the floor as all the doges whined and nuzzled into his body for warmth in the cold sting of the storm outside. The soldiers that joined him could only watch on in awe at the mutants ability to communicate with the dogs.
No loss of life was reported that journey home.
