Probably. I don't know from plants, but the tall tree blossoms look locally familiar. Here's one in full bloom

there are streets in burbank and a few here in hollywood where they planted them as "city trees", and int he spring, you get ALIEN PLANTS FROM SPACE, pink trees. Then the blossoms die and they sprout out the ranks of thin bladed leaves, until the winter. Then the trees look bare and stringy.

Yes, as pointed out in the comment by brokkentwolf, it is Jacaranda. When I read 'pink' I thought something like this.
