Another picture of Bear, my buddy the Island Fox. I finally found out that he is a San Clemente Island Fox (Urocyon littoralis clementae). A widower (His mate, Stubby, named for her missing tail, passed away some time ago of old age.) and father of a number of kits, Bear is a tribute to his endangered species. This was taken at the 4th Island Fox Festival at the LA zoo, put on by the Friends of the Island Fox.
