Gray wolves (Canis lupus) at the Grizzly-Wolf Discovery center in West Yellowstone, Montana. I was staying in a hotel across the street (aptly named the Gray Wolf Inn) when I heard them singing. I promptly rushed out of the hotel and across the street where I was able to snap this photo while being entranced by the beautiful song of these magnificent animals. That night I was lucky enough to be lulled to sleep by the same song. This was one of the best trips ever because the next morning, in the Lamar Valley in the north east portion of the park, I saw wild wolves. It was magical!
