Eating carrion does not a villain make (besides, pretty much every carnivore/omnivore can be considered an "eater of the dead"). Making carrion, on the other hand, might warrant some amount of concern.

I greatly respect vultures. They get a bad rap...but they perform a great service and they are quite sociable birds among themselves.

Exactly! And they are very sociable as well. When i had my Falconry experience day a while back, they had a group of Hooded Vultures that just hung around with us and they were so cawsome and socially fun to be around. From hopping around on the floor, to flying on our gloves, to just flying around. They were so adorable and comical bunch of burds!
