Between the Northern War and the Great East-West War, there existed an era of flowering culture and decadence known as the Bāġčê Devri. During this period, a rather unsavory custom of keeping vulpine concubines appeared among the amirs(who were naturally dogs or wolves) of the western regions of the Empire; as vulpine concubines will not produce heirs(excess of which has become a problem as there was no more land to expand) while allowing them to enjoy the pleasures of earth.
Of course, many found this abominable. Imams condemned this practice in their sermons, and ulama declared such practice illegal under the god's law. However, no one could force the amirs to abandon their practice; even the Padishah was cautious to do so as it was the forces lent by them that prevented the Northern War from becoming a complete disaster.
And thus, it was the foxes themselves who had to act to protect their beloved. Of course, most of such tries did not end well, as in this case.
What I originally wanted to draw was something more brighter, Zorro-esque foxes rescuing chrstian vixens from the pasha/bey/amir/sheik/khedive/whatever's court, inspired by this music. Well, it wouldn't have been completely bright, as I was planning to add a comment from human view criticizing how those vigilants abandoned those who has already lost their virginity or converted to islam, and rescued even those who wished to stay. Anyways, It turned to this rather disturbing story. I really wonder why.

The thoughts you had above, are classic world building. Causes and effects, cultures in motion. This is my guilty pleasure--guilty, because ti takes time and does not advance plots or immediately make me money. But when I used to run table top Roleplaying games, It was a valued skill. This is well thought of, and I think that you did a good job working out the implications. Now you just have to keep at it, and the skill could serve you well. I do think that what you laid out, the pluses and minuses in equal measure, and the reasons that this came about. It makes the story compelling, and makes thw audience want to read more, to see more details.
