I think people want to see is not all bad for the majority.
Men are stupid, women are considered, women are considered insensitive men. Children are referred to the adults, the adults deal with the kids ... And so on ...
So if people have already hate each other then that is very different (like a dragon) they hate it even more ... unfortunately.
I think therefore it is.

PS: Sorry for the serious thoughts, but when I read this picture that came to my mind.

It's more down to the writer being lazy and going with something most people can see as evil. As I remember when I was back in school someone pointed out how they couldn't see something like draco from dragon heart having human feelings or the fact he could talk or why he didn't just eat the knight. A large carnivore is more easier to write as a evil character then a small kitten for example. I think it's more interesting when a villain just looks like everyone else, then something that is over the top bad looking.

Often times I like seeing the good guy looking big and fearsome and has trouble convincing others he's there to protect them. Somewhat why I came up with my second character Malkin for example.

Someone needs to watch Dragonheart again! Especially a certain legendary mouth scene! XD

One of my favorite scenes yes. Draco was nicely designed as well, wished I could have seen more vorish work with him however, kinda like how I see with toothless from how to train your dragon, but oh well.

At least dragons are considered the big bads. You have to slug the whole way through a dungeon to fight one. As opposed to wolves, who are the obligate first level monsters and usually the first quest in any MMO is to kill about 45 of them.

Would be more interesting if one was actually the good guy and was being attacked by everyone, even by those he's trying to save. Makes for a more interesting hero. But yea, they are easy to make into villains as well.

Pretty much the same could be said about anything since pretty much anything can be a bad guy in a video game. The only thing is that dragons are always depicted as so big and powerful that the game makes a big deal out of them.
