The Ring Lord recently started manufacturing these shield-shaped scales, which are much more accurate to historical scale mail (if you're into that sort of thing). They work best when riveted down onto a sturdy backing.

So here they are on a scrap of 7-9 oz vegetable-tanned leather. Now that I have a photo of it I'll be testing now nicely it bends into a bracer shape when soaked in water. If it works well I think I'll make some of those. If it works poorly, I guess I'll have to do some more tests.

These are clear anodized aluminum. The Ring Lord is also making them in various other anodized aluminum colors.

What to people think? Does this look like something that people would want?
