Those little high-pitched noises they make while flying are coming off their wings, not a vocalization.

Yes, the lil' quail are adorable. They're mostly flightless, but, like a chicken, if they run and flap hard enough they can go a few metres before landing again.

And, yes, the morning doves are horrid, and everywhere. No car is safe.

I only ever saw a stuffed and embalmed one at some desert museum next to a real coyote, and boy, did those fellas at Warner Brothers lie to us for all our lifes! You call *THAT* big?! The coyote at least remotely resembled the cartoon creature.
