Hey there folks! ^,^ Here's a little something I whipped up to try and do something different... namely something NOT cute, fuzzy, a toddler, or female... hope you like him =3 And yes, I've been watching and reading the Kinnikuman series so you can partially blame that for this.

Here's my latest entry into the PCA <w< A shiny pinsir with heracross influences who wear a mask in the ring and uses a wrestling style. Here we see him, the mask he wears, and his casual clothes when not fighting under the title of Tiger Beetle =3

Personality:
If encountered casually Heracles is amazingly casual and friendly for a huge, muscle bound beetle. He’s even tempered and has a very mellow attitude taking things in stride with a good-natured sense of humor and just being friendly to everybody. He’s fairly blunt and doesn’t mince words for the most part, just saying what he thinks about a subject or how he feels… but he’s not so socially tone-deaf as to do it when it’d hurt somebodies feelings or in a mean-spirited way. He also tends to be a bit teasing, particularly when he’s close to somebody. While not modest Heracles usually doesn’t like to talk about his past battles, the titles he’s been given, or his trophies in too much detail and would rather talk about battling in general if he must talk about. When pushed he tends to try and be vague and acts rather embarrassed about the whole subject. Praising him also gets this same result. Above all he tends to be a good big brother or friend figure to people who know him and is rather pleasant to be around.

When he puts on the mask of “Tiger Beetle” though his personality does a radical change, he’s still essentially friendly, kind hearted, and all around good… but he becomes loud, outspoken, flamboyant, and incredibly aggressive. A born and bred showman he panders to the crowd and plays up his larger than life persona for all its worth… while still at his core remaining respectful of his opponents in the ring. Even if “Tiger Beetle”’s goal is to pound them into the dirt in the most crowd pleasing way possible.


History:
Born the only child of two upper-middle class parents in Goldenrod City Heracles had an… interesting childhood. Both his parents (a heracross dad and a pinsir mom) were nothing if not loving and supportive to him… but they were also aggressive hotheads with hair trigger tempers who seemed to equate physical violence to flirting with each other. Because of this most arguments between them ended up being settled by seeing who said uncle first and then patching up the bruises afterwards… often with Heracles watching and shaking his head. He didn’t understand why people gave him weird looks when he told them “Ma and Pa are fighting again, they’ll be done in a minute” till he was much, much older.

Heracles wasn’t born with his parents violent tempers or overt violent instincts… but he was born with a considerable amount of strength for his age. Because of this as soon as he was able to understand this (an incident involving his pincers and crushed monkey bars at the age of 5) he wanted to find some way to control it better… if just so the other kids on the playground wouldn’t be scared of him. Naturally his parents started looking for a dojo or some kind of combat academy that could give Heracles lessons… but during a visit to one in particular the young beetle’s life changed. The particular dojo had connections to a local amateur wrestling league and there was a match going on during their visit. Within minutes of watching the two colorfully clad fighters throwing each other around the ring Heracles was hooked. He was signed up for the dojo soon after.

Heracles proceeded to throw himself into the training, managing to become the best student in his age group soon after joining. By the time he was in third grade he was ready for the big time and entered into a children’s combat tournament as a representative of his dojo. It was there he got the nickname that helped shape his fighting career. His instructor had nicknamed him “Tiger” due to his eager attitude and being the best in his age group and Heracles’s first opponent taunted him by asking if this meant he was a “Tiger Beetle”… Heracles managed to win that match and place 3rd in the tournament but the damage had been done and the nickname stuck fast…

So Heracles decided to use it and adapted a masked persona like the wrestlers he’d watched in the ring. Creating a character as large as life who could act as a proper showman and give the audience something to remember while still kicking butt and taking names. He continued his training (winning several tournaments and trophies along the way and gaining attention… both good and bad) as well as studied at the Goldenrod Pokémon Academy… till eventually between his parents saving up money, the money from his tournament wins, and his own grades and records he transfered to the best battle academy anywhere…

Fighting Style:
Heracles’s style can easily be described as power wrestling using grapples, throws, suplexes, and slams to batter and beat the opponent into submission in a showy, high energy style using both his pincers and long arms to create new variations on classic wrestling moves that better suit him. Among them being the “Tiger Beetle Suplex” and “Tiger Beetle Flying Suplex” (pincer using variation on the Tiger Suplex), the “Tiger Beetle Driver” (pincer using variation on the Tiger Driver), and “Tiger Beetle Piledriver” (a pincer using variation on the Tombstone Piledriver). Past his wrestling moves he’s been taught a few other styles including boxing… but at best all he’s taken away from that is how to throw a good punch and how to use the “Flicker Jab” technique which works well with his long arms. He also utilizes his long arms for clotheslines and lariats with surprising efficacy. If faced with a bigger and heavier opponent or anyone he can’t lift or throw he usually resorts to various locks and holds he knows… but he is at his least effective here as far as dealing damage goes. Luckily his sheer strength makes this a rare occurrence.

If anything Heracles’s own style is his biggest weakness though. If an opponent stays out of reach of his long arms there is next to nothing he can do to them letting clever opponents avoid the beetle and pick him off at a range… though since he’s not as slow as he looks this can be harder then it seems. His other weakness is despite his incredibly strength, endurance, and stamina most of his moves are very taxing and it is possible to simply outlast him if you can somehow soak up all the damage he deals or recover from it quickly enough.


Miscellaneous Facts:
- Heracles is very, very embarrassed about his name. Apparently his mother is a scholar of Greek mythology and while she was pregnant with him she offered to let her husband fight her for the right to name their kid… he declined since he wasn’t willing to while she was pregnant so she got to name their son after one of the greatest heroes of Greek mythology, Heracles. She also insisted on using the proper, original Greek name instead of the Roman and Western version of Hercules. Heracles is still working on forgiving her for this.
- Heracles has oddly enough gathered up a surprising amount of titles and nicknames over the years including Tiger Beetle (his fighting name and persona now), Boss (the nickname some of the younger students back at the Goldenrod Dojo gave him), and Beetle the Mask (a teasing name he gained after starting to wear a mask in the ring) but the WORST and the one he’s most ashamed of is Clubber Beetle. He gained it when he was 16 and entered into a “King of the Mountain” style tournament where several fighters square off at once and the last mon standing wins. Several rivals he’d beaten in previous tournaments were looking to insure Heracles didn’t win this one… so four of them jumped him the moment the fight started hoping to gang up on him. Acting on panicked impulse Heracles grabbed the nearest attacker (a mouthy twat of an aron) and used him to beat off the other three attackers… or as it was later described “He beat the big ones up with the little one”. Despite managing to win with an impressive “Tiger Beetle Flying Suplex” finisher all anybody remembers from the match is him clubbing people with the aron much to his shame… the fact it was recorded and posted online doesn’t help either.
- Heracles makes his own masks and has a sock drawer full of failed attempts since it took him a long, long time to finally get it right.
- Due to a suggestion from a friend Heracles has started watching an anime series called “Kinnikuman” and its sequel “Kinnikuman Nisei”… he finds it kind of silly but he’s been looking into pulling move ideas from it… and he’s taking one of the anime’s openings “Hustle Muscle” as his entrance music into the arena due to liking how it sounds.
