One of the fan favorites of the museum. This car was made by Indianapolis Motor Speedway founder Carl Fisher made for the inguinal running of the Vanderbilt cup. He wanted an american built car that would beat the European teams handily. He went to Indianapolis's own Premier Motor Car Company to build such a car (and thew out $15,000)...and this hulking beast of a car was made. It could do 70mph, very fast for the early 1900s, thanks to its massive Inline Four. However...when he went to enter it, it was far over the 2,204 pound weight limit. He went back to Premier and they took off all the body work, then began to drill out the heavy frame and other heavy part with 474 holes. They went back and found out they were still 200lbs and Fisher left in a rage.
The car would be raced only once, in 1905 in a local oval race. It won with an average speed of 59mph
